While venturing around clubfest, I ran into the booth for Dance Marathon. I had heard from many people that Dance Marathon is a great activity to get involved in while at ISU for a great cause as well. Since I have always loved to dance, and was looking for a worthy club to get involved in, I listened to what they had to say about the event.
After listening to the representatives at the booth, I was sold. I discovered this was a great event and is the largest student-run philanthropy at ISU. The group last year had raised so much money for all of the children in need of it and had loads of fun doing it. Not only did the ISU students of the group have fun eating, dancing, and doing other activities, but they were able to interact with all of those children’s families throughout the Dance Marathon event and even on other occasions. It means a lot to me to know I am a part of something so great for all families of children in need.
By becoming involved in Dance Marathon my freshman year, I have the greatest chance of being selected to be in an executive position in my later years at ISU. This will be a great opportunity for me to not only have it for a resume builder, but use it in my favor to build my character and leadership abilities in my adventure at ISU.
I am deeply looking forward to this event, and all that comes along with it. Things like the fundraising, activities, and the new leadership abilities formed over the course of the involvement.

I've seen a lot of presentations for Dance Marathon. I want to learn that special dance they do every hour to keep everyone awake.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great thing to get involved in. Two good things all in one: helping kids and doing something you love which is dance. Congrats on finding a club that fits you well.
ReplyDeleteThats awesome! One club with two causes. It would be a great way to have a lot of fun and get involved with something. I have looked into it a little, but I haven't decided if I want to do it or not yet.
ReplyDeleteDance Marathon, from what I hear is a lot of fun. We had a mini one at my old school which I got involved in through student council. It was a great way to get involved and give back.

ReplyDeleteDance Marathon is a blast! I have had so much fun doing it. It's a great way to have fun and give back. Meeting the families is great too. You get to see the people you're helping. It's totally amazing.
